Your Adventure
Go on this magical guided kayaking experience through the historic twin towns of Ballina and Killaloe. Journey through 1,000 years of history accompanied by a guide who will lead you on this experience.
Our stable and comfortable touring kayaks are specifically designed for river journeys and no prior
experience is required to move smoothly and effortlessly along the waterways. The launching spot for this adventure is at the Mill Yard in Killaloe, between the river and the canal
which is opposite the library. We have a range of equipment to get you kitted out with and before heading out on the water we will give you some tuition.
After launching the first few minutes are spent
practicing and getting used to being on the water. After this, the adventure begins! As you head off on your adventure you will be introduced to the fascinating history of Killaloe and life on the River Shannon, from the clans of ancient times to the cruisers of today.
Discover the history of the waterways which were the motorways of times past. Paddle up the ancient canal, which is rustically beautiful before passing St. Flannan’s Cathedral and up under the 16th century stone bridge. With the help of your experienced guide make your way through the lock gates before going out onto Lough Derg. Enjoy the sights of the picturesque twin towns as you look down the River Shannon.
